Zeba A. Syed, MD, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained ophthalmologist and eye surgeon who specializes in cornea, cataract, and refractive surgery. She practices at Ophthalmology Physicians & Surgeons, PC, working closely with patients at the practice’s offices in Spring House and Hatboro, Pennsylvania. She is also an assistant professor of ophthalmology at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.

After graduating summa cum laude from the highly competitive Harvard College in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Dr. Syed continued on at Harvard Medical School, and ultimately completed her ophthalmology residency at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston. Following her residency, Dr. Syed traveled to Miami, Florida, where she participated in a cornea and refractive surgery fellowship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.

Since then, she has developed a wide array of ophthalmology interests, including ocular surface disease, pediatric corneal disease, corneal infections, cataract surgery and management of complications, corneal transplantation (PK, DSEK, DMEK), refractive surgery (PRK), LASIK surgery, excimer laser PTK, keratoconus and collagen crosslinking, and Fuchs’ dystrophy and other corneal dystrophies.

In addition to her experience and strong educational background, Dr. Syed is the author of numerous book chapters and articles in peer-reviewed literature. In just two years since completing her residency, Dr. Syed has been honored as a Heed Foundation Fellow and received the Resident Excellence Award by the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS).
